Every worship or prayer service conducted in an Episcopal church is based on the Book of Common Prayer. There are several services in the book, and each service varies in choice of Bible readings, the music played and sung, the prayers selected and, of course, the sermon.

Episcopal services are similar to those of the Roman Catholic Church and to many Protestant denominations, all based on ancient tradition. If you are familiar with those services, ours will not seem new to you. But even lifelong Episcopalians find themselves wondering about parts of the service. If you have a question, feel free to ask your neighbor in the pew, or ask the priest, or explore one of the links below.
